Reporting live from Massachusetts!

I'm HOMEEEE!

And very excited, as if you cannot tell.
Today is May 20th, and friends, it is the first check-in day to the program! IM SO EXCITED! I hope my friends checking in today are having the best times of their lives. I'm really jealous, but I am still really happy that I made the decision to stay here until June. My dad comes home from training tomorrow, and then things get crazy, because we have to seriously pack up this house.

OH YEAH! I'm moving to GREECE! My dad got a job on the island of Crete, and they move in July. I'm obviously still going to Disney, but I'm moving out there afterward. Very exciting times.

My mom and dad decided to make a whole vacation out of my move-in, just because it will be 5 WHOLE YEARS until we can do the whole Disney World thing again, and that's why I am really going to appreciate these next couple of months in the States, as they are gonna mean a whole lot more to me due to the fact that I'll be living in Europe for 5 years. I find it a pretty crazy change, but I am very excited.

I'm still trying to organize my life before heading out to Florida, buying a digital camera too. That's one of my top priorities right now. Oh, and packing a house.

Good times. It's almost here!

Maybe today was a bad day to wear my Michigan shirt in North Carolina...

Basketball finals tonight. How exciting. Haha.

I'm feeling as if I'm finding myself in the "down" of the semester. I don't want to do anything, I just want to go to Disney! It's quite the abnormal feeling, like having "senior-itis" all over again. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I am really quickly approaching the 2 month mark (in 5 days!) and I'm starting to think of what I have to pack. I figured I'd put my list on here, so that other people can use mine and make suggestions, cause man do I really need them!

Okay:

Bedding (comforter, quilt, 2 sets of sheets, pillowcases, two pillows, body pillow)
Shower Curtain, Liner, and Caddy
TV/DVD Combo thing
Laptop with cables and things
Shoe Rack
Closet Storage bins
Storage Bin with drawers (I heard that the pantry gets really stuffed, so I was thinking I would keep non-perishables and snacks in a separate place.)
Bed risers
Under bed storage bins
My baby, the mixer. (Don't laugh, I LOVE to cook. My apartment mates are so lucky)
Coffee Maker
Apparently, a toaster.
Food, obviously
Household cleaning items (Clorox wipes, Pledge, Swifter Wet Jet, Windex, Bathroom cleaning stuff)
Shampoo and soap and stuff like that

I should probably also say that I plan on buying most of my stuff while I am in Florida. I'm going down a couple days earlier to get settled and have a mini-cation with my family. Very exciting stuff.

But yeah, that's all for now. I'm going home for Easter in a couple days, and I'll report back from the great commonwealth of MA sometime over the weekend!

AHHHH!!

So, as you can tell from the title of this update, I am very excited! Why, you may ask?

BECAUSE MY AWESOME COUSIN GOT ACCEPTED FALL ADVANTAGE 2009 CHARACTER PERFORMER!

So, this means that we will be spending the next eight months of our lives together living at the coolest place on earth. His name is Alex, and we grew up together. My family got him into Disney, and my mom made him audition, and he was accepted!! He was pulled for face, and it looks like he is going to be friends with Aladdin! Hopefully :]

The deal that we have is that I'll cook and he will clean. I have a really bad feeling that won't last very long. But it is looking like (if I am allowed to) that I will extend my program until next May and see how things happen from there. I'm sure if I end up doing that, then Alex will too. It will be interesting to see how things happen. I've decided that I'm going to do a video supplement to this blog, and I am sure that he will be starring in some of the videos as well. I'm getting really excited about this, it's like...awesome. Seriously!

Tomorrow is April, which means March is over. And June is one month closer...

Roomie Update!

Hi friends! Just a quick update this time, I'm really sick at Meredith, and there isn't much fun around here for sickies.

So, I decided that random roomie notification sounded like bunches of fun - for me, at least. So I signed up and Disney said: "We currently do not have a roommate for you at this time, but you will be notified by email if a match becomes available." I figured this would probably be a long process...but...the very next morning I woke up with a match! Her name is Susan, and she seems really nice. It looks like we are into the same kind of things, too, so I'm sure we'll be a good match. Knowing that I've got a roomie made me ever more excited to actually get down to Florida, but then I remember it's still 90 days away...which doesn't really seem like all that much! For some reason I thought it was a whole lot more. But it's not! YAY!

Sooo...yeah. That's really all I wanted to say. In a couple days I'm going on what is not being referred to as "the great long roadtrip" with a Meredith friend. We're driving from here to home! So I am sure there will be much to talk about with that! EXCITING!

So...

I filled out all my paperwork, and the only thing left to do is...wait until June.

I'm starting to think that I should have checked in in May. Kinda sad, but it's whatever. I really can't wait to find out if my cousin is going to get in too. I would be so sad if I had to go without him. But, we go on.

Meredith is super warm. It's 80 degrees right now, kinda shocking since it was in the low 30's back home for spring break. I'm going home in 18 days, so I guess I'll know how it feels down there for that short weekend. I love making road trips, and I think that will be a ton of fun for me and my friend Stacie. Going back to classes, however, not so fun. I hate this whole "school" thing! Doesn't anyone understand that I just want to go to Disney? I guess not.

Currently awaiting paperwork meetings for credit from my school I am kind of nervous about that, but it's okay. Disney signed what they had to and it was all received, so I am good to go...in June.

I have a feeling this is going to be the second hardest wait of my entire life.

First one...

Well, I was accepted.

Fall Advantage 2009 : Attractions.
I check in June 15th to the happiest place on earth.
And I'm going to live there until January 2nd!

Wow.

Well, maybe we should start with a bit about me.

My name is Emily Catherine,
but I just go by Emily.
I'm from Southeastern Massachusetts,
but I go to Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina
Approximately 716.36 miles, roughly 13 hours away.
I'm a double, musical theatre and international studies major with a concentration in tourism.
Which is pretty crazy, even for my standards.
I want to either move to NYC and make it big, go to law school, or earn my way to a high ranking position in the Disney company.
I'm 18, and the youngest freshman here at Meredith, as far as I know.

I applied the first day that applications went up.
I would check every day and then be so upset that they hadn't posted yet.
And then they finally went up, and I had my interview the next monday.
Then came the long wait.
26 days.
And they were the longest 26 days of my life.
But I went to my mailbox on friday, freaked out in front of it, fell to the floor in the middle of the student center and screamed my head off.
Accepted, Fall Advantage 2009 Attractions.
Exactly what I wanted.
Needless to say, I feel completely blessed.

And now comes the even longer wait.
I can't wait.
